Maazin Kamal is a screenwriter, director and photographer from Karachi, Pakistan with a BA in Cinema Studies from York University in Toronto and an MFA in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. Most recently, his feature screenplay Buraq won the Empire Award for Drama at the 2016 New York Screenplay Contest and advanced to the semi-finals of the 2015 Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting. His first two narrative shorts, The Wolf and the Wayfarer and Bobo, are currently traveling the international festival circuit. At present, Maazin is writing and developing his first narrative feature as a director, a crime drama set in Pakistan titled Messenger. He is represented by Eric Williams and Tai Duncan at Zero Gravity Management.
